Instruction
for Authors
The journal Hemijska industrija (Chemical industry) is publishing papers in the field of chemical engineering, chemical technologies and chemistry. Open Access fee Due to significantly increasing costs of journal publishing, we are compelled to establish Open Access fee payment, for all contribution submitted after April 1, 2012. Open Access fee is 50 € + VAT or equivallent amount in US $ (for authors from Serbia equivalent amount in RSD, at the rate of NBS). Journal office will send you Proforma Invoice with payment instructions upon paper acceptance. Please bear in mind that the Editorial office will not be able to proceed with publishing without Open Access fee paid. Articles for publication Original scientific papers (up to 24 typewritten pages), research notes (up to 8 pages), preliminary communications (up to 6 pages), review articles (up to 36 pages), professional papers (up to 12 pages) and book reviews (up to 3 pages) will be published (text without Tables and Figures). Preparation of Manuscripts Manuscripts should be written in good English. Typing Type manuscripts with double line spacing on A4 size page leaving approximately 2.5 cm for margins. Use left margin to indicate positions for figures and tables. Number all pages of the manuscript including references, tables, and a list of figure captions. Title page Title page should contain: the title, full names of all authors and their affiliation. The name of the author, to whom the correspondence shall be addressed provided with complete address and e-mail address, has to be given at bottom of the page. Abstract An one-paragraph abstract of 150-200 words pointing out the essentials should be given and clearly set off from the text. Authors from Serbia and former Yugoslavia should submit on a separate page also an abstract in Serbian including the title and addresses. Key words Key words should be given after the Abstract. Tables Tables should be numbered consecutively in order to which they are referred by Arabic numerals. Each table should have a brief descriptive title. Footnotes to tables should be typed below the table and should be referred to by superscript lowercase letters. No vertical rules should be used. Tables should not duplicate results presented elsewhere in the manuscript (e.g. in graphs). Collect tables at the end of the manuscript. Figures Photographs, charts and diagrams are all to be referred to as "Figure(s)". Figures should be numbered consecutively in the order to which they are referred, and given a descriptive caption. Number of illustrations should be restricted to the absolute minimum. A caption should comprise a brief title (not on the figure itself) and a description of the illustration. Keep text in the illustrations themselves to a minimum but explain all symbols and abbreviations used. Supply captions on a separate sheet, not attached to the figure. Photographs Photographs should be of high contrast, clear, black and white, glossy prints. Color photographs are also acceptable. Remove non-essential areas of a photograph. Where necessary (e.g. micrographs), insert a scale bar in the illustration (not below it), as opposed to giving a magnification factor in the caption. Formulae and Equations They must be written with great care using corresponding formula/equation editor. Equations should be numbered (1), (2) etc. Units Authors are requested to use SI units. Symbols, terminology and abbreviations Internationally accepted usage is recommended. Symbols and abbreviations should be used consistently. Chemical nomenclature Follow the usage of Chemical Abstracts whenever possible. References Indicate references in the text by numerals in square brackets in consecutive order. List references at the end in order of their appearance. Give names of all authors (do not use "et al."). Abbreviations of journal titles should conform to those adopted by Chemical Abstracts.
